For the first time this year Police Academy in Szczytno is hosting Ukrainian students who are scholarship recipients of the Erasmus+ programme. Our academy has signed an agreement under the Erasmus+ Programme „Higher Education” sector with the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs. The agreement concerns academic exchange with institutions from non-EU countries. As a result five Ukrainian students and a supervisor are staying at Police Academy in Szczytno for an Erasmus+ traineeship from April 12th to 24th.

The main part of traineeship programme prepared for young policemen from Dnipropetrovsk are media relations training and first aid exercises. In order to facilitate integration into AP w Sz academic environment, classes in English, as well as training sessions in intervention tactics and techniques were organized jointly with Polish students.

To present the history and culture of our region, a trip to Olsztyn was organized, combined with a visit to the Museum of Warmia and Masuria. Later during the stay Ukrainian students will have the opportunity to explore the facilities and teaching infrastructure of AP w Sz in more detailed way by using the Police crisis management simulation centre , the laboratories of The Analytical and Research Centre and The Police Centre of Research and Competence Development.

We hope that the internship will equip students from Dnipropetrovsk with useful knowledge and skills relevant to the Police duty and also will provide positive experiences from their stay in Poland.
