Granada

From 16 June 30 June, 2025, a student from the Police Academy in Szczytno, studiying the Police Science, participated in a foreign internship organized under the Erasmus+ program. The mobility took place at the Jefatura Superior de Policía Nacional in Granada.

During the stay, the officer had the opportunity to take part in numerous practical activities and professional meetings. A key element of the internship program was becoming acquainted with the Spanish system of support for victims of domestic violence, which includes both police actions and cooperation with aid institutions. The officer directly participated in apartment searches during which narcotic substances were discovered and secured in accordance with procedures used by the Spanish Police.

The internship program also included an introduction to the operations of the police forensic laboratory, where modern techniques for analyzing physical evidence were presented. Particular interest was drawn to the presentation on the Spanish Police's work with foreigners, covering administrative and preventive aspects as well as the specifics of intercultural interactions.

In the latter part of the stay, the officer became familiar with the methods used by the department responsible for combating cybercrime, where techniques for detecting and counteracting online offences were discussed. A valuable experience was participating in joint street patrols conducted throughout the city of Granada, which enabled a direct understanding of patrol duties and the principles of cooperation within police structures.

Participation in the Erasmus+ internship at the Jefatura Superior de Policía Nacional in Granada was a valuable component of professional development, providing insight into the functioning of the police in another European Union member state.

The trip provided an opportunity to acquire new practical competencies and expand knowledge about solutions used within the Spanish police structures. The mobility program highlighted the important role of inter-institutional exchange in improving work methods, enhancing the quality of performed tasks, and building a shared approach to security issues at the European level.
