On 7 - 18 July 2025, a student of the Police Academy in Szczytno, studying Police Science, participated in an international mobility under the Erasmus+ programme in Budapest, Hungary. The scholarship holder took part in this year’s edition of the "Ordered Liberty School", organized by Ludovika University of Public Service in cooperation with the University of Louisville (USA).
A key component of the programme was the analysis of issues related to freedom of speech and media rights including the problem of fake news and misinformation. Participants explored legal frameworks concerning the operation of artificial intelligence, online platforms and communications in outer space, as well as topics related to electronic media law.
The course addressed contemporary legal solutions characteristic of the 21st century, covering areas such as internet platform regulations, natural law, fundamental human rights, artificial intelligence, space activities, as well as issues of electronic media law.
In addition to lectures delivered by renowned professors from European and American universities, the programme featured sessions led by judges from the U.S. Federal Court of Appeals, who contributed a unique practical perspective and insight from the highest levels of the judiciary.
Furthermore, representatives of the Polish side gave a presentation on the structure and functioning of Poland’s political system to the participants.
During their stay in Hungary, participants also had the opportunity to take part in a cultural excursion to Vienna, where they visited major historical landmarks and explored the city's rich heritage. The programme also included fencing classes, which served as an engaging form of physical activity and group integration. A highlight of the event was the formal gala dinner held aboard a Danube River cruise, offering a unique blend of cultural experience, social interaction, and relaxation.
The experience gained during the mobility represents a valuable contribution to the professional development of a Polish Police officer, particularly in the area of understanding legal regulations concerning media and new technologies.
Participation in the programme also fostered the establishment of international academic contacts, which may support the exchange of best practices and the development of competences in fields critical to national security and the protection of citizens' rights. The workshops brought together representatives from academic and public institutions from countries including China, the United States, Indonesia, and various European nations, encouraging multilateral dialogue and the exchange of perspectives.
