The host of the internship was the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Police Headquarters in Croatia, Rijeka.
During the two-week stay, the participants were assigned to several organizational units subordinate to the Headquarters, which allowed them to gain comprehensive insight into the specifics of service across different branches of the Croatian police. At the 1st Police Station in Rijeka, they performed patrol and intervention duties alongside local officers, working to ensure the safety of both residents and tourists in the city and surrounding areas.
The Polish officers also took part in securing a football match between HNK Rijeka and Ludogorets Razgrad, during which they observed the tactics of the riot control units (Interventna Policija). At sea, they served with officers from the Maritime Border Police in Rijeka, participating in a patrol on the Adriatic Sea focused on safety inspections, anti-poaching measures, and maintaining public order.
The internship was not only an excellent opportunity to become acquainted with the structure and nature of service in the Croatian police but also a valuable experience for professional development, skills enhancement and the exchange of international law enforcement practices.
