Between 4 and 29 August 2025, two students of the Police Academy in Szczytno, studying Police Science, took part in an international mobility programme carried out within Erasmus+ in Brussels.
As part of the training visit, the participants familiarized themselves with the functioning of the Belgian law enforcement services. The programme included presentations on the structure and procedures of the local police, the recruitment system, career paths, and promotion criteria. Particular attention was devoted to operational methods, the organization of patrols and interventions, as well as the activities of prevention units responsible for securing mass events.
The students had the opportunity to observe the work of officers in various units, including those dealing with interventions, patrols, intelligence operations, and information analysis.
They were presented with procedures for responding to threats, techniques of command and coordination, and methods of cooperation with other services. An important element also included practical activities such as firearms training and participation in patrols in a multicultural environment.
The experience gained allowed for a comparison of the organizational models of the Belgian and Polish police, highlighting similarities in operational functions as well as differences in the division of competences.
The mobility confirmed the importance of international exchange in enhancing the professional competencies of officers and fostering cooperation among the Member States of the European Union.
