Villingen 1

The first Erasmus+ scholarship student from the Baden-Württemberg Police University of Applied Sciences in Villingen-Schweinningen (Germany) has just completed stay at the Police Academy in Szczytno. Between 23 and 27 February, Mr Marius Neubert took part in a short internship at the Police Academy in Szczytno.

As is tradition, the guest met with the Dean and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Security and Legal Sciences, Lt-Col. Dr Agnieszka Sadło-Nowak and Capt. Dr Łukasz Kacprowicz, as well as with the Academy's Erasmus+ programme coordinator, Anna Ćwiklińska. During his tour of the Academy, Mr Neubert visited the Police Analysis and Research Centre, the shooting range, sports facilities, the police crisis management simulator and the library. Employees of the Training and Professional Development Department presented the police education system in Poland to him. The internship programme was focused on presenting the practical side of the Polish Police. The German student participated in exercises in intervention tactics and techniques and first aid at the Physical Education Department and observed classes conducted by employees of the Institute of Policing and the Institute of Criminal Service. He held substantive consultations with employees of both Institutes.

One day of Mr Neubert's internship was devoted to a visit to the Regional Police Headquarters in Olsztyn. This gave the German student the opportunity to listen to a presentation on the Warmia and Mazury Police Department as well as the region itself, and to visit rooms of a Duty Officer of the Regional Police Headquarters and of the riot police in Olsztyn. He was also shown the Regional Security Centre. This gave the scholarship holder comprehensive information on the functioning of various services and units of the Polish Police at the regional level.
