On 16-18 June, 2025, representatives of the Police Academy in Szczytno participated in a seminar entitled “Visibility Generates Recognition: Women in Leadership Positions in the Police” organized by the German Police University in Münster.
The event marked another important milestone in the long-standing cooperation between the two institutions, which includes staff exchanges and the implementation of joint educational initiatives for uniformed services.
During the seminar, the Commandant-Rector of the Police Academy in Szczytno, Col. Dr. Agata Malasińska-Nagórny, delivered a lecture entitled “100 Years of Women in the Polish Police: Then and Now”, while the Deputy Commandant-Prorector, Col. Dr. Monika Porwisz, gave a presentation on women at the Police Academy in Szczytno.
The program featured inspiring speeches by women leaders, discussion panels addressing challenges faced by women in uniformed services, coaching sessions, as well as networking opportunities and the exchange of best practices. As part of the visit, a meeting was also held with the leadership of the International Cooperation Department of the German Police University in Münster, during which further development of bilateral cooperation was discussed. Additionally, the German side presented the activities of their university.
Participation in the seminar represented a significant contribution by the Police Academy in Szczytno to promoting equal opportunities, developing women's leadership competencies, and strengthening the involvement of women in leadership positions within the Polish Police's uniformed services.
