On October 7–8, 2025, the Police Academy in Szczytno hosted a delegation composed of the leadership and faculty of Sam Houston State University (USA), as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies from the State of Texas.
The visit took place within the framework of long-standing training cooperation between the Polish National Police Headquarters and Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, part of which was held at the Police Academy in Szczytno.
On October 8, 2025, the delegation was officially welcomed by the Commandant-Rector of the Police Academy in Szczytno, Gen. Dr. Agata Malasińska-Nagórny.
The meeting was attended by the Academy’s management staff and 2nd Lt. Wojciech Sobczak,
the representative of the International Police Cooperation Bureau of the National Police Headquarters.
During the meeting, the Academy’s educational and training offer was presented, and current challenges faced by modern police universities were discussed, along with opportunities for developing joint scientific and educational initiatives.
During their stay in Szczytno, the delegation was given a tour of the Police Academy’s teaching and research facilities.
As part of the visit program, the U.S. representatives also visited the District Court in Szczytno, where they met with the President of the District Court, Judge Ewelina Wolny. The meeting provided an opportunity to learn about the functioning of the justice system in Poland and to exchange experiences concerning police–court cooperation.
The visit was held in an atmosphere of openness and professional dialogue, marking another step in strengthening Polish–American relations and further developing academic cooperation between Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, and the Police Academy in Szczytno in the field of public security.
