AEPC 125

On 16–17 October 2025, the Executive Committee of the Association of European Police Colleges (AEPC) convened at the Police Academy in Szczytno. The event brought together representatives of police training institutions from Austria, Georgia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, and Switzerland. The meeting was formally opened by the President of AEPC, Director of the Swiss Police Institute, Mr. Stefan Aegerter.

The Police Academy in Szczytno was represented during the Executive Committee discussions by the Commandant-Rector, Gen. Dr. Agata Malasińska-Nagórny, and the Deputy Commandant–Vice-Rector, Col. Dr. Monika Porwisz.

The participants discussed key matters related to the adoption of the new AEPC Statute, which sets the direction for the Association’s development in the coming years. Among the topics addressed were the establishment of new bodies – the Presidency Round Table and Expert Committees – which will focus, among other areas, on police leadership, educational innovation, and psychological resilience of officers.

The meeting also included the presentation of the AEPC Strategy for 2026–2028, covering initiatives aimed at modernizing teaching methods, strengthening cooperation with international organizations, and implementing advanced technologies in training processes.

Delegates had the opportunity to explore the educational and research facilities of the Academy, visiting the Police Analytical and Research Centre, as well as touring Wolf’s Lair in Gierłoż and the Museum of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.

The AEPC Executive Committee meeting in Szczytno had a special character: during the event, the AEPC President, Mr. Stefan Aegerter, presented Commandant-Rector Gen. Dr. Agata Malasińska-Nagórny with the AEPC Crystal – a symbolic distinction awarded for outstanding commitment to fostering cooperation within the Association and for supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing police education. This honour reflects recognition of the Academy’s active role in building international relations and promoting high standards in police training.

It is worth emphasizing that hosting representatives of police colleges at our Academy is a distinction for the entire academic community and a testament to the high quality of education and strong engagement in international cooperation.

Future meetings of the AEPC Executive Committee are planned for 2026–2027, including gatherings in Norway, the Netherlands, and Malta.

The visit of AEPC representatives was an invaluable experience and contributed to strengthening cooperation between institutions.
